One Nation Under God

Philosophy #2:  Awaken to Our Spiritual Heritage.

“Of all the dispositions and habits which lead to political prosperity, religion and morality are indispensable”

– George Washington

My GOP counterparts emphasize expanding freedoms of citizens in the marketplace.  They want to eliminate burdensome regulations that inhibit freedom and liberty.  Furthermore, they encourage risk taking in the market place by Americans.  They desire individuals to solve the economic and employment problems of the day.  We agree 110% with this statement.

We believe this same message needs to be applied to the issue of religious liberty.  Our citizens must exercise, not possess, their religious freedom to change the social fabric of this country.   Americans must exercise their conscious and take risks with people, not just the marketplace.  Washington will not be the primary source of American change—Americans caring for and engaging individuals in their communities will be!

The core job in Washington is to protect and expand liberties to free Americans to make a difference.  We need politicians fighting hard for both liberties as the basis for American strength.  I believe the welfare of our country has far more to do with our spiritual backbone than our financial situation. Americans must take responsibility for engaging ALL their freedoms to improve this country.

American leaders have given religious insights throughout history and it’s time we reengage the wisdom and spiritual heritage they provided us:

  • “In God We Trust”

– United States Congress 1864

  • “Our scientific power has outrun our spiritual power. We have guided missiles and misguided men.”

– Martin Luther King

  • “My greatest concern is not if God is on our side; but if we are on God’s side, for His side is always right.”

  • “….those nations only are blessed whose God is the Lord.”

– Abraham Lincoln

Embracing our spiritual heritage, emphasizing the need for a spiritual backbone, and expanding our religious freedom is foundational to our return to American strength.

I will fight for Religious Freedom for All People.  I will continue to exercise my personal faith in guiding my life and the decisions I make in Government.  The Constitutional job of a Senator is to “Promote the General Welfare”.  I believe Spiritual Development of the American people is key to improve the General Welfare.  Establishment works against this goal but encouragement to grow our soul is a must to improve our General Welfare.

Furthermore, freedom of conscious is cherished by all Americans and should only be limited when the public’s physical safety is jeopardized as consistent with the laws of the land.  Increasing religious liberty and encouraging (not establishing) the use of these freedoms will be a primary goal while in office.
